All students benefit from high-quality, direct, and explicit teaching. Effective classroom instruction from an experienced and knowledgeable teacher provides students with the essential components for strong literacy development.

For students with learning differences, it is crucial they have access to high-quality Tier One teaching (classroom instruction) and likely Tier 2 teaching (focused, small-group intervention). These students typically require repeated exposure and practice to consolidate new skills.

Tier 3 Literacy Intervention at Bayside Literacy Lab

For learners who continue to struggle with literacy acquisition, Tier 3 intervention is vital. This is the most intensive and responsive level of support, and early intervention is crucial—we cannot afford to wait. At this stage, every session counts, and students benefit from one-on-one, focused teaching in a quiet, distraction-free environment.

While some schools have highly trained intervention teachers, not all do—and even when they do, the dosage may fall short of what each child truly needs. Without consistent, individualized practice, gaps in phonemic awareness, decoding, and fluency can widen, making later catch-up increasingly challenging.

Our Approach

At Bayside Literacy Lab, your child will receive explicit, systematic, and structured literacy intervention grounded in the Science of Reading. Each weekly session is designed to:

  • Review and reinforce previously learned skills

  • Introduce new concepts in a logical, cumulative sequence

  • Provide immediate corrective feedback and targeted practice

  • Foster confidence through mastery-based progression

Our approach ensures that targeted support is provided, so that students build strong foundational skills, setting them up for success.

We tailor every lesson to your child’s unique profile—addressing phonological awareness, decoding strategies, morphological patterns, and fluency drills. We track progress meticulously, adjusting instructional pace and content to ensure steady, measurable gains.
